Gerry Cheevers
Hockey Player
Goaltender known as Cheesy Cheevers, he played for five professional leagues from 1956 to 1980, including for Toronto and Boston in the NHL.
He began his career at age 16 for the Toronto St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey Association.
He was the goalkeeper on the 1970 and 1972 Stanley Cup winning Boston Bruins, and earned himself an induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985.
He was born and raised in St. Catharine's, Ontario, Canada.
He played under head coach Don Cherry on the Bruins.
