Singer and model with Kay Kyser's big band orchestra in the 1930s and 1940s.
She was a successful model in Dallas, Texas and moved to New York to continue modeling and pick up parts in Broadway plays, like the musical Louisiana Purchase.
She not only sang with the variety-act Kay Kyser and His Kollege of Musical Knowledge, but was personally involved with Kyser and appeared in three of his films.
She and Kay Kyser had two daughters and five grandchildren.
As an actress, her best-known role was arguably as Betsy Ross in the 1942 musical Yankee Doodle Dandy.
