Gene Upshaw

Hall of Fame offensive guard for the Oakland Raiders from 1967 until 1981. He is widely regarded as one of the NFL's all-time greatest linemen.
He joined the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity while attending Texas A&M University-Kingsville, which was known at the time as Texas A&I University.
He played in the Super Bowl in three different decades--1967, 1976, and 1980.
He had his first son, Eugene III, with his first wife Jimmye Hill.
He and Jerry Rice were the first two players to participate in the Super Bowl in three different decades.
