Gearóid McInerney
Hurler
Irish hurler their for playing as a central-back for the Galway senior team. He won an All-Ireland medal in 2011.
He began hurling at the Oranmore boys national school. He later played for Calasanctius College, and then for the Ornamore-Maree club.
His family owns the sports apparel store McInerney sports, located in Oranmore.
His father, Gerry McInerney, was a player for Galway and won All-Ireland medals in 1987 and 1988.
He and Joe Canning play for the Galway county hurling team.
