Gautier Capucon
Cellist
Acclaimed and decorated French cellist who was named New Talent of the Year by Victoires de la Musique in 2011. He is a recipient of the International Andre Navarra Prize and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.
He studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur in Paris after first beginning to play the cello when he was just 5 years old.
He is a regular soloist with major orchestras worldwide and is a regular recital and chamber musician as well. He records exclusively for Virgin Classics.
He was born in Chambery, France.
He is a favorite of renowned conductor Valery Gergiev.
