Gary Jennings
Children's Author
An American author of fiction for adults and children, he is most their for his 1980 historical novel, Aztec. His other works include The Journeyer (1984) and Raptor (1992).
He graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey. He published his first novel, The Terrible Teague Bunch, in 1975.
To prepare to write his circus-themed 1987 work, Spangle, he traveled with nine circus troupes.
He was born in Virginia to Glen Edward and Vaughnye May Jennings. He died at the age of seventy in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey.
He attended Eastside High School, the same school featured in the Morgan Freeman film Lean on Me.
