Gary Ablett Sr.
Australian Rules Footballer
Australian rules footballer best known for his 12-year career with the Australian club Geelong.
He played six games for Hawthorn in the early 1980s before joining Geelong.
His numerous awards and his 1986 conversion to born-again Christianity led his fans to refer to him as "God."
He and his wife, Sue, were married in 1985. The couple had four children, but later became estranged due to Ablett's mental health and substance abuse problems.
He and Shannon Byrnes both spent good portions of their career with Geelong.
