English spin-bowler nicknamed "Boom Boom" who has played country cricket for teams like Worcestershire and Surrey. He made his debut for England in One Day Internationals in 2002 and in Tests in 2003.
He attended Bingley Grammar School and began his career with his hometown team Yorkshire in 1997.
He was the bowler who surrendered Brian Lara's world record 400th run.
His brother is fellow cricketer Jeremy Batty.
He has spent much of career as a backup to Ashley Giles.
