She was born in Mexico City and began dancing and modeling in her youth.
She won a 1987 TVyNovela Best Actress Award for her work in The Secret Path.
She was born in Mexico but has lived much of her life in the US. She married Francisco Luis Ricote in 1993. The couple went on to have three daughters named Maya, Lara, and Gala.
She was born in the same year as fellow Mexican telenovela actress, Erika Buenfil.
