One of France's star classical pianists following World War II. He was called "a splendid pianist" by expert David Dubal.
He attended the Paris Conservatoire from 1947 until 1953.
He became the only pianist to ever study with composer Francis Poulenc.
He was born in Cannes, a hub for artists and the location of the Cannes Film Festival.
He collaborated with many of his fellow musicians, including Isaac Stern.
