Frederick Ruckstull
Sculptor
French-born American sculptor and art critic who created the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Wisdom, and Force.
He worked for years as a toy store clerk to save enough to study in Paris.
His work Evening won the grand medal for sculpture at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.
He married in 1896 and had a son.
He and Georges Braque are both well known sculptors from France.
