Fred Hammond

Gospel music singer, songwriter, and producer who sang songs like "Blessed" and "King of Glory."
He began with the group Commissioned, singing for Light Records; he achieved fame with his solo 1998 release of Pages of Life: Chapters 1 & 2, a double-Platinum seller.
He won four Dove Awards for Contemporary Gospel Album in the 1990s, and his album Purpose by Design also won him a Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year Award in 2001.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan. He was married to Kim Hammond from 1986 until 2004 and they raised two kids named Darius and BreeAnn Hammond.
Marvin Sapp was Hammond's bandmate in Commissioned, singing on the Commissioned Reunion album.
