Frankie Trumbauer

C-melody saxophonist known for his compositions, especially his recording with Bix Beiderbecke and Eddie Langof of 'Singin' the Blues.'
His mother was a music teacher who got him started playing; he went on to perform with the Edgar Benson and Ray Miller bands, as well as the Mound City Blue Blowers.
He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1977.
He was born in Carbondale, Illinois and was part Cherokee.
Trumbauer's recordings of "Ostrich Walk" and "There'll Come a Time" were used in the soundtrack of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a film which starred Brad Pitt.
