He graduated from Cornell University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in architecture, and from Harvard University in 1997 with his master's.
He became known in 2016 when a video of a death star he was built went viral.
He married his wife in 2004. They have a son, Calvin, and a daughter, Claire.
