Francisco Morales Bermúdez
World Leader
Peruvian General who became leader of Peru after his military coup in 1975 and served until 1980. The economic and political reforms that he attempted to enact were generally failures.
He graduated from the Chorrillos Military School in 1943.
He is remembered for returning Government power in Peru back to the civilians at the 1980 National Elections.
His father was a Peruvian Army Colonel.
He ended his term as President of Peru in 1980, more than 3 decades before Ollanta Humala would take office as the country's 94th president.
