Fran Saleski Finzgar
Novelist
Famed Slovene folk writer who wrote in multiple genres. His best-known works include the 1912 novel Pod svobodnim soncem and the 1941 children's work Mister Torrent.
He attended secondary school in Ljubljana and studied at a theological college from 1882 until 1891.
He was the recipient of the 1951 Preseren Award and the 1953 Levstik Award.
He was born in the Upper Carniolan village of Doslovce. He died at the age of ninety-one in Ljubljana.
He and fellow author Lovro Kuhar were both born in Slovenia.
