Choreographer, dancer, and actor; he and his brother, Harold, became known as the Nicholas Brothers.
He and his brother appeared in 1935's "An All-Colored Vaudeville Show," 1948's "The Pirate," both for MGM, and 1940's "Down Argentine Way" for 20th Century Fox.
He was a member of the Bahá'í Faith.
He married his girlfriend, Barbara, in January 1967.
He was in 1943's "Stormy Weather" with Lena Horne.
