Freestyle swimmer who won the 4 x 100m gold and the 100 m bronze at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne.
She set an unoffical world record in the age 12 range for 100 yards with a time of 1 minute 7.1 seconds.
She retired from professional swimming at age 15, but continued to be an Olympic advocate.
She has two sons, Adam and Troy, with Mitch Tuohy.
She is a gold medal-winning Australian swimmer, much like 2008 gold medalist Stephanie Rice.
