The Senior Pastor of Chicago, Illinois' Moody Church, he previously served as Pastor of Edgewater Baptist Church (also in Chicago). He also produced such Evangelical Christian-themed radio programs as The Moody Church Hour and Songs in the Night.
During the 1970s, he earned a master's degree in philosophy from Loyola University Chicago.
He published more than two dozen Christian-themed books, including One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination and Failure: The Back Door to Success.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, he later settled in Chicago, Illinois with his wife Rebecca.
He penned The Da Vinci Deception, a book that harshly critiqued author Dan Brown's popular novel The Da Vinci Code.
