Ernie Whitt

Former MLB catcher best remembered for his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he spent twelve seasons and was named an All-Star in 1985. He later became a coach for the Blue Jays and other MLB teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan and was a late-round selection of the Boston Red Sox in the 1972 amateur draft.
He was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
He has been married and has three children.
He played alongside Blue Jays teammate Dave Stieb at the 1985 MLB All-Star Game.
