Swedish defender who earned the prestigious James Norris Memorial Trophy for the league's top defenseman in both 2012 and 2015 as a member of the Ottawa Senators.
He played three seasons with Sweden's J20 SuperElit league from 2006 to 2008.
He was named to his first NHL All-Star team in 2011.
He married Therese Karlsson on July 6, 2012, but they got divorced in 2013. He then married Melinda Currey in 2017.
He played in the 2010 World Championships with teammate Peter Forsberg.
