Jazz artist who specialized in meshing classical technique with jazz principles.
He started his professional career at age 19, performing with trombonist Marcello Rosa's quartet.
He received France's Djangodor Award in 1992 and 1997 and Italy's Django d'Or Award in 2003.
His father, Alvaro, was a jazz guitarist, and he greatly encouraged his son's musical ambitions.
He collaborated with some of the greatest artists in jazz, including Chet Baker.
