He was ranked one of the top 150 recruits in the nation by ESPNU following his senior season at St. Mark's School of Texas.
He was Consensus First-team All-Big 12 selection at the University of Texas while also being a Lott Trophy finalist in 2011.
He is the brother of Sam Acho, who has played professionally for the Arizona Cardinals.
He was traded by the Browns for running back Dion Lewis on April 11, 2013.
