Former newsreader for the One O'Clock News who became the main presenter of Newsnight in 2006.
She learned to speak Spanish, Italian, and French while studying at Queens' College, Cambridge.
He has also been seen on BBC News 24, the BBC Weekend News, and the BBC News at Ten O'Clock.
She had two children with banker Mark Gwynne.
She presented with Jeremy Paxman on BBC Two's Newsnight.
