Emily Hughes
Figure Skater
American figure skater who represented the United States at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. In 2007, she took home silver medals in ladies' singles at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and Four Continents Championships.
She was born in Great Neck, New York and qualified for her first U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2001. In 2002, she co-wrote the book I Am a Skater.
After retiring from figure skating, she served as a legislative intern with the United States Senate and worked for the International Olympic Committee in Switzerland.
Her older sister is figure skater Sarah Hughes, who won gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics. She has four other siblings.
She was teammates with Sasha Cohen on Team U.S.A. at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
