After earning a liberal arts degree, she worked odd part-time jobs like dog walking and bartending before landing her first job as a stylist.
In October 2015, she released her interior design book Styled: Secrets for Arranging Rooms, from Tabletops to Bookshelves.
She has a son named Charlie and a daughter named Elliot.
She is friends with fellow designer and blogger Joy Cho.
