Canadian actress known for her wide range of supporting roles in TV and film, including Godsend, Wild Card, and Saw VI. Her daughters are actresses Riele and Reiya Downs.
While dancing in high school, she also started competing in pageants, which culminated in being crowned Miss Black Canada.
Although they haven't often acted together, she appeared in an episode of of Degrassi: Next Class as Mrs. Powers, the mother of Shay Powers, played by her daughter.
She is of Jamaican and Native American descent. Her great grandmother and great aunt were her guardians growing up.
She appeared alongside David James Elliott in the movie A Ted Named Gooby.
