Actress who is known for hear appearances in both feature films and television as well as for being a voice over artist for video games and other animated projects. She is recognized for her appearances in the feature films 30 Days of Night and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Her first feature film appearance came in 1985 when she was cast as Suzanne Maxwell in the film Hot Target. She then earned recognition with a recurring role on the television series Young Hercules where she voiced the character Hera. She earned further recognition in 2005 when she was cast at Mrs. Macready in the 2005 film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
She was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2001 for her services to the arts of theatre and television.
She was born and raised in New Zealand. She married Raymond Hawthorne and together they have two children Emmeline and Sophia.
She starred alongside Michael J. Fox and Dee Wallace in the Peter Jackson film The Frighteners in 1996.
