Eleanor King

Established modern dance as an art form with her dance company the Eleanor King Dance Repertory Company formed in 1942.
She studied dance at the Theatre Guild School in 1926 alongside Doris Humphrey.
She appeared in the first abstract ballet in 1928 called Color Harmony.
She had five siblings andattended Clare Tree Major School of the Theatre in 1925.
She choreographed dance routines around their pieces of literature such as poems written by James Joyce.
