He attended the Bradford School of Art and the Slade School of Art in London.
He designed "dazzle ships" for the Allies during World War I. The ships used Vorticist geometric techniques to confuse the enemy.
He was born in Bayswater, London.
Henri Gaudier-Brzeska was another member of the Vorticism movement.
