Edmund Burke

English politician and member of the Whig party who is widely considered the philosophical founder of modern Conservatism. He served in the British Parliament as a member of the House of Commons for Wendover.
The debate club at Trinity College was known as Edmund Burke's Club.

His father, Richard Burke, was a prominent solicitor for the Church of Ireland.
He served as a member of the Whig party for several years; Millard Fillmore was the final member and President from the Whig party.
