Modernist poet known for Dikter, Septemberlyran, and other poetry collections. She is associated with the symbolist and futurist literary movements.
She decided, during the course of her language studies at a St. Petersburg school, to compose all of her poems in Swedish.
She died at age thirty-one from tuberculosis, a disease that she had contracted at age sixteen.
She was the Russian-born only child of a Finnish family.
She found literary inspiration in the works of Friedrich Nietzsche.
