Eddie Giacomin
Hockey Player
Steady Eddie was one of New York's most admired sports stars in his day, playing goaltender for the Rangers in the 1960s and '70s.
He started in the minor leagues back during the NHL's Original Six days.
Even after the New York Rangers traded him away, fans at Madison Square Garden chanted his name on his first return.
He grew up in Sudbury, Ontario Province, Canada.
He played on even through injuries, including one he sustained when Bobby Hull skated over his hand.
