Bumbling character actor who became popular in the 1940s. In 1983, he appeared in National Lampoon's Vacation and two years later, he appeared in Murder, She Wrote.
He started performing with Vaudeville at age nine.
He debuted in the 1939 film, Pacific Liner.
He married co-star Connie Nickerson in 1939 and they remained together until her death in 2002.
Like him, Bob Hope was also a former Vaudeville star.
