Wrote the book The Capture of Inspiration in 1935 about studying the piano.
He was a student with Louis-Joseph Diémer during his time with the Conservatoire de Paris. He achieved First Prize in Piano.
His tour of the United States in 1919 led to the founding of New York's Franco-American Music Society.
He was born in Paris, and he died in San Francisco.
He also wrote the technical book The Piano Works of Claude Debussy, which was published posthumously in 1950.
