Duncan Ban Macintyre

Scottish Gaelic poet known for his poem "Moladh Beinn Dobhrain," an ode to a Scottish mountain peak called Beinn Dorain. He is considered one of the great Scottish nature poets.
He worked as a constable, soldier, and forester before becoming known for his poetry.
He lost his sword during the Battle of Falkirk; later, he composed a humorous poem recalling this event.
His hometown had no school; consequently, he was illiterate for his entire life. He composed his poems in his head and dictated them to scribes.
He and Robert Burns were both eighteenth-century Scottish poets.
