College basketball coach and former college athlete, who signed to be an assistant coach with Loyola University-Chicago before the 2017-18 season. In his first three seasons of coaching at Loyola-Chicago, he won over 73 games as an assistant coach.
Before being hired as a full-time coach, he once was a graduate assistant at Michigan State University.
In his first seven seasons as a NCAA basketball coach, he has led his teams to six March Madness tournament births, including a pair of Final Four appearances.
He attended J. W. Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan. His father, Carlton Valentine, was the head coach of the team. His father was an NCAA Division I athlete at Michigan State University.
His brother Denzel Valentine, is a professional basketball player in the NBA.
