Dolores Huerta
Civil Rights Leader
Advocate for women's' rights and immigrant workers' rights, who co-founded the National Farmworkers Association, which is now known as the United Farm Workers, in 1962.
She was a majorette in Girl Scouts.
She has been well recognized for her work receiving the Eugene V. Debs Foundation Outstanding American Award, the United States Presidential Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Human Rights, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and many more awards for her community service and advocacy.
She is the child of and Alicia Chavez and the mother of Lori and Celeste Head.
She co-founded the National Farmworkers Association with Cesar Chavez.
