Rapper and DJ who rose to fame as a member of the hip-hop group De La Soul alongside Kelvin Mercer and David Jude Jolicoeur. Their debut album "3 Feet High and Rising" gave them a strong start in the music industry and was later recognized as one of the greatest albums with Slant Magazine ranking it at number 9 on it's "Best Albums of the 1980s" and even making the Rolling Stones list of greatest albums of all time.
He began rapping for De La Soul in 1987.
One of their most popular singles was when they teamed up with Gorillaz and released "Feel Good Inc" in 2005. De La Soul later toured with the band.
He has a younger brother named Anthony. He has four children and his son, Tre Mason, is a professional football player.
He and the rest of De La Soul performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2016.
