Second baseman who debuted for the Chicago Cubs in 2011, then was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 2012. He won a Gold Glove Award with the Rockies in 2014 and an NL batting title with the team in 2016.
He played college baseball at LSU and helped the team reach the College World Series in 2008, then win the College World Series in 2009.
He was selected 79th overall in the 2009 MLB Draft by the Cubs.
He was born in Visalia, California. He and his wife, real estate agent Jordan LeMahieu, wed in 2014.
He joined a middle infield led by star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in Colorado.
