American singer-songwriter known for her albums Bible Belt and Speak a Little Louder. Her song "Rise Up" was the Starbucks iTunes Pick of the Week in October 2009.
She moved to Los Angeles intending to compose for films, but began a career as a pianist and singer instead.
In 2013, she was featured on the song "Rewind" by English rapper Devlin.
Her father was a Seventh Day Adventist preacher who worked overseas; she lived in Zimbabwe and South Africa when she was young.
She opened for Stevie Wonder at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in 2010.
