Concert pianist who also composed salon music under the pseudonym D Magnus.
He studied at the Brussels Conservatory and was given First Prize in 1843.
He was the inspiration for an 1867 lithograph by Amédée de Noé.
He was born in Brussels and died in Paris.
His 1869 composition Rienzi, opéra de R. Wagner, Fantaisie-militaire, Op. 133, was a paraphrase on Rienzi by Richard Wagner.
