Born Derek Johnson, Jr. and known to his fans as Derek Minor and PRo, this Christian rapper and music producer is their for his hit albums Redemption (2010) and Dying to Live (2011) and is also known for his work with the hip hop groups R.M.G. and 116 Clique.
After studying music at Middle Tennessee State University, he co-founded a music production company called Christ Like Entertainment (which he later renamed the Reflection Music Group).
A screenwriter as well as a hip hop artist, he created a documentary short titled Welcome to the Family and a web series called Dying to Live.
Raised primarily by his mother, he spent his early days in Pontiac, Michigan, and the bulk of his childhood in Tennessee. His father, a jazz musician, inspired his love of music.
He and fellow Christian rapper Andy Mineo both performed with the group 116 Clique.
