Dennis Holt

Poet and linguist whose published works include Windings, From a Sequoia Journal, and The Development of the Paya Sound-System. He also prepared English translations of the poems of Jose Luis Quesada and Panuncio Isidoro Rafael.
He attended the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, Los Angeles. He published his first poetry collection, Windings, in 1973.
He was dismissed from his teaching job for sharing his views on the Iraq War.
He married Carleigh M. Hoff, who became the mother of his son.
He was inspired by the work of New York School poet Kenneth Koch.
