After finishing as runner up on The X Factor Australia's 2014 season, Ray released his debut ARIA chart-topping single, "Coming Back." His first album debuted in November 2014.
At only 16 years of age, he left his family home in Queensland, Australia to follow his musical dream. During this time, he traveled and worked on farms to get by, then started playing music full time to pay the rent.
His covers of "Budapest," "Bette Davis Eyes," "Crying," and "Stolen Dance" all rose to Top 40 positions on Australian music charts.
Born Dean Pritchard to country musicians Angie and Chris Pritchard, he grew up in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. In late 2014, he began dating fellow Australian vocalist Bonnie Anderson but the couple broke up only a few months later.
He was judged by Ronan Keating on The X Factor Australia.
