Songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist remembered for his 1977 Billboard # 26 hit pop song, "Ariel." Another of his singles, "Lucky Stars," became a top ten hit in the United Kingdom.
He studied music at the City College of New York, where he was taught by the famed guitarist David Bromberg.
His songs were covered by many bands, including The Barenaked Ladies and Ben Folds Five.
He was raised in Paramus, New Jersey, where he began playing the guitar at the age of nine. He and his wife, Alison, became parents to a daughter named Hannah as well as a son.
He attended the same college as Ervin Drake.
