David Rubenstein

American billionaire known for being the co-founder and co-CEO of the private equity investment firm The Carlyle Group. He is also a philanthropist who has promised to donate more than half his fortune to charitable causes as part of The Giving Pledge campaign.
He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 1970 before earning his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1973.
In 2013, he paid $14.1 million for the Bay Psalm Book, the largest amount ever paid for a printed book.
He married newspaper publisher Alice Nicole Rogoff.
He previously served as the Domestic Policy Advisor to President Jimmy Carter.
