David Darling

New Age musician and cellist who won the Grammy for Best New Age Album in 2010 for "Into the Deep: America, Whaling & The World." "Cello Blue" from 2001 also earned him a nomination.
He began studying cello at age 10. He later earned a graduate degree in music education from Indiana State University.
His quest to incorporate unique sounds and textures into his music led him in 2000 to the Wulu Bunun, a Taiwanese aboriginals group.
His family was residing in Elkhart, Indiana, when he was born. They recognized his talents early on.
He performed with several notable artists, among them Bobby McFerrin and Spryo Gyra.
