He won two World Series titles as a member of the Orioles, in 1966 and 1970.
He was named the NL Manager of the Year in 2012 when he led the Washington Nationals to the playoffs.
His daughter Andrea was a world class surfer who passed away in 2005.
His handling of Stephen Strasburg in 2012 provoked a great deal of controversy.
