Dave Schultz

Freestyle wrestler who became a five-time Wrestling World Cup Champion and won gold at the 1984 Olympic Games. His 1996 murder at the hands of millionaire John du Pont was dramatized in the 2014 film Foxcatcher.
He won a state title at Palo Alto High School and later, an NCAA Championship in the 167-pound weight class while at Oklahoma State University.
Following his death, USA Wrestling established the annual Dave Schultz Memorial International wrestling meet in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was survived by his wife Nancy and children Alexander and Danielle. His brother, fellow freestyle wrestler Mark Schultz, also won gold medals at the 1984 Olympic Games.
He was portrayed in Foxcatcher by Mark Ruffalo, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance.
